Date Syrup BBQ

Pork Ribs

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 racks of pork ribs

  • 1/4 cup Cali Date Syrup

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Preheat grill to medium heat or set your oven to 275°F (135°C).

  • Season the ribs generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

  • In a small bowl, mix together Cali Date Syrup, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and olive oil to create the BBQ sauce.

  • Coat the ribs with the BBQ sauce.

    • Grill Method: Grill ribs over indirect heat for 2.5-3 hours, turning occasionally and basting with additional sauce during the last 30 minutes.

    • Oven Method: Wrap ribs in foil and bake in oven for 2.5-3 hours.
      In the final 30 minutes, unwrap the ribs, baste with additional sauce, and return to oven to caramelize.

  • Once ribs are tender and the sauce has formed a sticky glaze, remove from heat.

  • Serve hot, with extra Cali Date Syrup BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
